What to Do If I Already Had an Abortion?

"Jesus, the Divine Prophet, came to Earth to save its creatures. This is the reason for our constant concern in defending Life."

Paiva Netto, the President-Preacher of the Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit

Based on the power of this statement, the Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit1 explains The Serious Spiritual Consequences of Induced Abortion. This is the title of an article divided into two parts, which presents the great spiritual connection between the baby and his/her parents, based on the Universal Law of Reincarnation.

In the first part of the article, we learned the difference between a miscarriage and an induced abortion and what happens to the child’s spirit in two challenging situations: The moment the spirit unites with the body and begins life as a fetus and the spiritual rights and duties of the parents and families during this process.

Now, we will learn about some other important topics brought to us by the minister-preacher of the Religion of the Third Millennium Paula Suelí. Read them below:

Jesus, the Ecumenical Christ, the Divine Statesman, teaches us to correct what is wrong without making judgements. And this should be our posture with regard to abortion. More than two thousand years ago, in such a wise way, He said to us, "Let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone" (The Gospel according to John 8:7). And which of us can do that? None of us; not then and not now.

Jesus: The Divine Inspiration for Life

In studying the Gospel of Jesus, the Heavenly Educator—in Spirit and Truth under the light of His New Commandment: “Love one another, as I have loved you. Only by this shall all of you be recognized as my disciples” (Good News according to John 13:34 and 35)—we seek the spiritual knowledge that is necessary to live our lives in a balanced manner given the circumstances.

Especially for this debate, we bring the Parable of the Watchful Servants (The Gospel according to Luke 12:35-48). In verse 37, the Christ of God says,

“It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them”.

Jesus tells us of a huge happiness for all those who undertake their spiritual responsibilities correctly and with dedication and truth. They will have the honor of being served by the Master Himself. In this case, when we talk about family, responsibility means looking after the children, to support the Spirits that cannot defend themselves, and help who at that moment in time depend on the generosity, commitment, and love of their parents to be born and to live.

Such responsibilities were assumed with the Creator Himself; therefore, it is not something we should discuss merely from the material point of view—which is also important—but from a perspective that precedes this dimension of existence, since it is an issue of Spiritual concern.

No one can grant us the gift of life; we are just its mediators. Life belongs to God.

Also in this passage, now in verse 42, the Divine Liberator invites us to reflect:

“Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food at the proper time?”

The manager represents anyone who is willing to serve, who is prudent; in other words, someone who is wise and observes the consequences of their actions. He represents here those who stand up and care for their brothers honestly, courageously, and with perseverance. Because before we are children and parents, we are all brothers, we are the children of God.

That’s why, when we look at verses 45 and 46, we find this warning:

“But suppose the servant says to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time in coming,’ and he then begins to beat the other servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.”

In dealing with this matter (the preservation of Life), we must be aware that we possess a type of power, which is the right to life; in our case, this right has been preserved. But none of us can use our own right of life to take away the right of our fellow being to live.

We cannot abuse the power, capabilities, and rights that God has given us. When we use this power in an irresponsible way, we suffer the effect caused by our acts, and, as a result, we are summoned to answer for our imprudence.

When the person has an abortion

In order to understand how we should response in the face of a wrong attitude, we turn to verses 47 and 48 in the Parable of the Watchful Servants, which clarify the consequences of a mistake considering two different states of awareness. In other words: when an attitude is taken and the person is aware of his/her mistake and when there is no complete awareness of the transgression that is being committed.

Jesus warns us that the more we know about a certain subject, the more accountable we shall be held with regard to our stance towards it. Having an abortion will always lead to tragic spiritual consequences, because the Divine Law governing the Universe always preserves life in all circumstances.

What can be done to correct the mistake made?

- Pray for the baby’s eternal spirit

The first measure to be taken is to pray. Ask God for this son or daughter who finds himself/herself in the spiritual world. Open your heart up to the Heavenly Physician and plead for forgiveness from this child, praying to God for a new opportunity to meet him or her again.

Ask the Heavenly Father for this child to receive a new opportunity to be born through the mechanisms of the Universal Law of Reincarnation. Praying to God for this opportunity and speaking honestly about our feelings creates the conditions needed for this painful circumstance to be transformed into the chance of a new beginning.

- Act in favor of other children on Earth

Besides the sublime gesture of prayer, we must act in favor of children who have already been born on Earth. Protect them with the care that the child who is in the spiritual world deserves and he/she will receive the strength of this act of love wherever they are.

These are the merciful opportunities that Jesus constantly offers to human hearts. After all, He was the one who said that He came to us, who make mistakes. He came to call sinners to repentance (The Gospel according to Luke 5:32).

The Heavenly Educator did not come to judge us; He came to give us an opportunity. May we, therefore, accept this invitation for redemption, a chance to help those around us who also need this chance. Christ always works so that forgiveness and Love prevail everywhere, so that we can know how to honor this divine sign of God’s generosity, which is life.

The Divine Protection in favor of families

In our prayers, may we ask the Heavenly Father for the strength and wisdom we need to always choose Life, remaining in His Love and asking for the blessings of the Spirits of Light for all mothers who carry their children in their wombs. Let us also ask for all the children who reincarnate in this world, who are being carried by their mothers in their wombs and being supported by their parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters.

May the Divine Protection be upon all the lives that stand firm, despite the violence that prevails in the world. May it also reach those mothers who welcome the children of other mothers and all those people who fight for the dignity of any child of God.

May we always be able to stand up and fight courageously for those who cannot defend themselves. With our example, may we know how to cry out for life, for its preservation in all its sacred manifestations. We pray to God for all His children who are, first and foremost, our brothers.
