Who are we, where do we come from, and where are we going? Countless people from around the world have undoubtedly asked themselves these questions at some point in their lives. Indeed, this has an impact on our attitudes and, consequently, on our destiny.

For the Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit1, the origin of Human Beings is spiritual. After all, “we are now body, but we are originally Spirit, as its President-Preacher, José de Paiva Netto, has been defending for decades. We need to understand that we were spiritually created by God in His Divine “image and likeness” (Genesis 1:26). Just as the Heavenly Father is eternal, we are all eternal as well. We are temporarily here on Earth, clothed in a physical body, for the sublime goal of evolving; in other words, seeking to correct and improve with each reincarnation on this planet.

But who is God or what is God? Jesus, the Ecumenical Christ, the Divine Statesman, in His Gospel according to John 4:24 revealed an important truth, not only for Religion but also for Science, Philosophy, and all areas of human knowledge: “God is Spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in Truth.” For this reason, He is the Mother-Father of the Universe, not a human, anthropomorphic god; in other words, a god created in our still imperfect image and likeness. Such god was used to justify so many wars and barriers . . .

So the article you’re reading now is based on an analysis of the Origin of a Life in God, who is the highest Supreme Energy that can exist in the Universe and which we, Human Beings, are only just beginning to understand.

Reincarnation and who are we?

“Reincarnation?” Yes, the divine mechanism of successive lives, of new opportunities granted by God, that gives us a good example of His true Love for humanity. We are spirits reincarnated with a mission—for which we shall be held accountable—a Spiritual Agenda2 comprising everything we need to do to progress, such as having new experiences and learning.

In his bestselling book Apocalipse sem medo [Apocalypse Without Fear], Paiva Netto writes on pages 73 and 74:

"Let it not slip from our memory what we promised in the Spiritual Sphere to do on Earth in benefit of our fellow beings. Generally, we are settling mistakes we committed in previous existences. I want to reaffirm the following: reincarnation is not punishment from God. On the contrary, it is His mercy granting us new chances. It is better than eternal hell. How can a father wish that his son―however much wrong he has done in a life of 50, 60, 70, or even 100 years―spend Eternity in infernal suffering, in the flames that do not consume? . . .”

With this in mind, we can see that it’s possible to change our lives on a daily basis. You know that fault you’d very much like to correct but you think you can’t anymore? Yes, you can, and that’s what’s so beautiful about life! We find happiness with each new achievement when we act on the basis of Love, Goodness, Respect, and Justice!

Where do we come from and where are we going?

Many people may ask themselves, “But if I’m a reincarnated spirit, where did I reincarnate from?” From the Spiritual World, the Original Homeland from which we came and where we will return after the phenomenon of death. After all, “The Spiritual World is not an abstraction. It’s invisible, but it exists,” as explains the president-preacher of the Religion of Universal Love.

That’s why we need to reflect on how we’re spending our time, our talents, our efforts, and our feelings. To achieve true happiness, we suggest you live what the Ecumenical Christ, the Divine Statesman, has taught us in His Gospel according to Matthew 6:33: “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” The late Proclaimer of the Religion of the Third Millennium, Alziro Zarur (1914-1979), called it “Extremely Urgent Formula of Jesus” and Brother Paiva Netto called it “Economic Formula of Christ.”

This is the key that the Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit presents us with so we can “prepare ourselves for death or Eternal Life. In other words, in basing our actions on good feelings, on putting the Fraternal Love taught by Jesus into practice, we shall conduct our life on Earth better and work for our Spirit to evolve.

1 Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit — also called the Religion of the Third Millennium, and the Religion of Universal Love. This is the Ecumenical Religion of Brazil and the world.

2 Spiritual agenda — The Religion of Universal Love teaches that no one is born on Earth without a purpose to their existence. The Heavenly Educator Himself, Jesus, gave us His example: “For I have come down from Heaven not to do my will but to do the will of Him who sent me” (The Gospel according to John 6:38). Therefore, each one of us, before we are reincarnated on Earth, assumes in the spiritual world—our homeland of origin—a set of commitments, situations, and challenges that make up our Spiritual Agenda.
