We invite you, dear reader, to reflect on the importance of the Peace of God in your life, especially in these difficult times we are living in, marked by violence, insecurity, and wars.

This article is dedicated to pondering how the Peace of God also manifests as an inner strength accessible to everyone, and on how powerful and transformative it can be in people’s hearts, reverberating throughout the world.

How to find the Peace of God

Let’s think about this: it is human beings who make things happen, isn’t it? People build societies, advance technologies, discuss and plan improvements, and drive research and development across economic, social, and cultural spheres.

Therefore, it is from within each individual that the events of this world arise and take shape—whether positive or, unfortunately, still negative.

Thus, it is this human being (a spiritual creature) that we must observe with care and attention, because from within them come the structures and realities that surround us. If there is peace, tranquility, harmony, and progress in society, it is because people are nurturing these values within themselves; likewise, if inner chaos prevails, that disorder is inevitably reflected in the world.

But you may ask yourself: what does all this have to do with the Peace of God?

Anyone who cultivates the Peace of God in their heart—whether man or woman, child, youth, or elder—is capable of accomplishing extraordinary things in their own life and in the lives of others. The inner peace that comes from God enables us to face life’s challenges with balance, confront difficult moments with serenity, and maintain mental and spiritual clarity. It guides us in our pursuit of true happiness.

That is why writer Paiva Netto (1941-2025), Spiritual Leader of the Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit, teaches on his blog:

“The greatest good that the Supreme Creator can grant His creatures is inner Peace, which nothing in this world can replace. Whoever has Peace has strength, because they carry Divine Power in their hearts.

This is the Peace that Jesus offers us every day and expects us to cultivate in our hearts—a peace endowed with transformative power, infused with Love, Fraternity, and Hope. In challenging moments, when we need strength to solve problems, courage to make the right decisions, perseverance to overcome illness, and faith to do good deeds, it is through this inner peace—Divine Peace—that we are strengthened and find the necessary balance to face everything.

The Peace of God Is Not the Peace of Human Beings

Tela: Carl Bloch (1834-1890)

“Christ the Consolator,” by Carl Bloch

The Peace of God transcends the peace promoted by human beings, which is often illusory. Human peace frequently emerges from conflicts and disagreements and may end up causing suffering without truly resolving problems. The Peace of God we seek and that He offers us is genuine, originating in Him, and one that only Jesus can provide us.

“My Peace I leave with you; My Peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. I give you the Peace of God, which the world cannot give you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age!” (The Gospel according to John 14:27 and Matthew 28:20)

In these verses, the Christ of God assures us of a Peace that the world is unable to offer. He came to teach the Peace of God, accessible to all who seek it, because He knows we need it in order to live well.

Furthermore, Jesus comforts us when He says, “Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age!” He Himself foresaw the challenges and suffering we would face and promised His Divine Peace to help us remain on the right path, granting balance, strength, and security, never leaving us abandoned.

Jesus is always with us, guiding our steps in the pursuit of good. We must reach out to Him, and we will become worthy of all that He has to give us through good feelings, thoughts, words, and actions.

Believing in God and seeking Peace does not mean the absence of struggles or difficulties. Rather, it means finding strength in Him to overcome them. Knowing that our path is illuminated by Divine Love brings tranquility to the heart and opens new horizons toward victory.

How to Attain the Peace of God?

Peace is within everyone’s reach, because it lies in our hands. It is not a passive state in which we merely wait for it to arrive; rather, it requires an active commitment grounded in love and patience, harmony, and forgiveness.

With this in mind, we have selected four practices that can help you walk this path of Peace:

1. Study the Teachings of Jesus

It is essential to study, research, and reflect on the teachings found in the Holy Gospel and the Apocalypse of Jesus. In these sacred texts, we discover clear guidance on how to live better, attain Peace of the Soul, overcome even the most difficult problems, and define our purpose in life. To do so, however, we must truly know Jesus and understand His teachings, so that we can apply them in our daily lives.

The Divine Religion offers various opportunities for study so that we may deepen our understanding of Jesus every day. As we learn in this Blessed House, “Jesus is a daily conquest for those who thirst for Knowledge, Mercy, Fraternity, Freedom, and Equality, according to the Law of Multiple Lives. Jesus, in Himself, is not a source of resentment or war.”

2. Eliminate Negative Feelings

Often without realizing it, we accumulate burdens in our Soul that hinder our journey and prevent us from experiencing inner Peace. Resentment, envy, laziness, judgement, and indifference are examples of harmful feelings and behaviors that serve no positive purpose in our lives. For this reason, seeking self-knowledge and inner balance is essential, so that we may cleanse our Soul of these residues that and harm us.

Our Spiritual Leader, Brother Paiva Netto, has long clarified this truth:

“Peace, true Peace, arises first from the purified hearts of human beings. And only Jesus can remove all hatred from the hearts of humanity, because He is the Lord of Peace.”

3. Pray to Jesus, the Ecumenical Christ, the Divine Statesman

A fundamental practice for those who seek peace of mind and spiritual protection is to follow what Jesus Himself taught us: to speak with God from the depths of our heart. Prayer is the assurance Jesus gives us so that we can achieve all we desire through Accomplishing Faith and merit.

Talking to God—this was a banner upheld by Brother Alziro Zarur (1914-1979), the late Proclaimer of the Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit. More than seventy years ago, through his radio preaching, he already invited everyone to establish this direct dialogue with the Master Jesus.

4. Do Good

Performing good deeds in the service to others fills our Soul with opportunities for spiritual growth and development. It helps us recognize victories beyond our own pain and encourages us to respond with compassion toward the suffering of others.

We will never attain True Peace within ourselves, in our homes, or in society—the kind that brings happiness, lightness, and wisdom—if we fail to look upon those who suffer or if we act with indifference and selfishness toward one another. This is the conviction taught by Brother Paiva: “Whoever wishes to lessen their own pain should help those who suffer.” And as the late Proclaimer of the Religion of the Third Millennium, Alziro Zarur, also taught us: “God created human beings in such a way that they can only be happy by doing Good.”

For this reason, it is crucial to persevere in prayer and to guide our daily actions toward what is good for us, cultivating love, charity, and mercy. When faced with challenges, we must remain steadfast on this path that leads us to the Peace of God within our hearts.

Thus, nothing can stop a woman or a man determined to do Good, for they will have at their side an army of Blessed Souls, Spirits of God, to strengthen them and grant them the Peace of God. As we read in this beautiful verse recorded by the Apostle Peter:

“Turn away from evil and do Good; seek Peace and pursue it.” (First Epistle of Peter 3:11)

Every Detail Matters—Let’s Not Put It Off

Sometimes, we take the topic of Peace for granted to such an extent that we fail to realize how indispensable it is for living in harmony and cooperation, both individually and collectively. Too often, we only become aware of this when violence or war intrudes into our lives.

We cannot postpone these attitudes that foster Peace. Every detail of our thoughts, words, and actions matters. We can choose to cultivate good conversations or engage in gossip, promote dialogue or provoke conflict, encourage cooperation or create a negative and heavy environment, among many other choices. These seemingly subtle “details” can produce either constructive or harmful effects and therefore require constant attention.

For this reason, the time to act is now. It is precisely amid the challenges of the present that we develop our inner strength and discover the Peace of God, which will remain in our Soul as long as we sustain these attitudes.

We emphasize: The Peace of God offers lasting solutions because it works at the root of problems, building strong foundations in a secure place—where thieves do not steal, corruption does not destroy, and no earthquake can shake its structure. This Peace will be rooted within you, and you will be the guardian of your Faith and of the Peace that comes from God, the Supreme Creator of the Universe.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (The Gospel of Jesus according to Matthew 6:19-21)

Therefore, dear reader, strive to apply the good practices presented in this text—practices capable of cultivating true inner peace through self-knowledge, as daughters and sons of God. Let us be the change the world needs to become a better place.

To conclude, we invite you to a moment of inner stillness through the following poem—also a prayer—titled “Jesus!” by Brother Paiva Netto, from his literary work Ao Coração de Deus — Coletânea Ecumênica de Orações [To the Heart of God — An Ecumenical Collection of Prayers]:

Jesus!

On Earth, Christ is the Lord!
He will be with me wherever I go.
I descend into the sea, I ascend to the Heavens,
I overcome hatred and slander.
I sing of the Light,
I cry out loud: Jesus!
Heaven and Earth will always endure.
Truth and Love shall reign.
And God will then decree our destiny,
With the Fraternity and the Glory
Of His Heart.
