To stay young is what the great majority of people wish for. But is it possible to stay youthful at any age every day of the year? After you read this article, you will see that the answer is YES!

However, it does not lie in appearance, because a true youthful life must come from a constantly happy, cheerful, and active Soul.

That is why we, inspired by the letter “To the Young People of Good Will”—written in the 1980s by the Leader of the Youth Movement of the Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit,1 José de Paiva Netto—bring together topics that will show you how the way we live our lives can lead us to a permanent good state of spirit!

The ecumenical doctrine of the Religion of the Third Millennium is based on the teachings of Jesus, the Ecumenical Christ, the Divine Statesman, who never weakened when faced with challenges and left Humanity a legacy of Peace by defending Goodness and True Fraternity with His own life. Read below five secrets we have prepared for you:

1. Experience the ideal of Goodness!

As the years and the challenges of life go by, having dreams, an ideal, establishing targets and goals are essential for us to feel motivated and find the youthfulness in ourselves, regardless of age. In order to be able to feel this way, the Religion of Universal Love teaches us that there is an ideal that must be present in all of us: the Ideal of Goodness.

This is the love of life, respect, Solidarity, companionship, and good deeds that, when practiced with balance, intelligence, and Good Will, do not let us grow old. “Human beings only grow old when they stop loving. Our age is that of our heart, even if our body is weakened,” affirms writer Paiva Netto.

That is why we recommend that you do Good based on the New Commandment of Jesus:

“Love one another as I have loved you. Only by this shall all of you be recognized as my disciples” (The Gospel according to John 13:34 and 35).

The late Proclaimer of the Religion of the Third Millennium, Alziro Zarur (1914-1979), explained this when affirming that, “There is indeed an elixir of long life, a brilliant substance that is capable of transforming all the ordinary metals of the Soul—which are far more important than the metals of earth—into fine gold: this is the New Commandment of Jesus.”

In bringing His Highest Commandment, the Divine Master encourages us to act for our brothers in Humanity on a daily basis, making us always useful.

And it is possible to live this all the time, with the family, at work, and even with voluntary activities. How about starting now? These actions keep the mind active and jolly. Our physical appearance will be a consequence of our state of mind.

2. Take and give good advice

Have you ever imagined living without a generation gap? It seems something almost impossible to happen, doesn’t it? However, the key to this harmonious coexistence is found on item 3 of the letter “To the Young People of Good Will” (page 271):

“The Young People of Good Will know that the Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit does not encourage an environment of conflict between generations. On the contrary: it combines the wealth of experience from the elderly with the bountiful energy of young people. Society benefits from this. It has learned that a young person is someone who has not lost his or her ideal of Goodness.”

3. Enjoy good new knowledge, especially the spiritual one

Have you ever noticed that we are acquiring knowledge all the time? Every day we make discoveries that help us understand new feelings, ways of thinking and of acting. This is not just a perception.

A scientific study has found that our brain cells, neurons, begin to age when we reach age 24, which slows down our cognitive rhythm and affects our memory. To mitigate this biological factor, reading and studying are activities that stimulate the cerebral cortex to remain young, as do physical activities and having a hobby.

Hence our tip is that you study the Gospel-Apocalypse of Jesus! It offers valuable teachings that, when put into practice, favor the well-being of the body and soul, as well as promoting a deep and true transformation in your life and in society.

4. Cultivate true friendships

Improving our immunity, filling us with enthusiasm, helping us live longer and better, and preventing depression, stress, and other ills: these benefits have been proved by recent studies into how friendship contributes to our organism, therefore helping to keep us young.

Now imagine all those benefits plus the happiness of helping other people you may not even know, but who also need attention and care? Join your friends or meet new ones in voluntary activities that benefit someone else!

In this way, not only will your body and mind remain young, but they will also be more useful! And your friendships will become even stronger, as Paiva Netto says:

Friendship born of the Eternal Ideal of Goodness is never destroyed.”

5. Don’t be disheartened. Carry on, trusting in Jesus!

It is always very useful to look at the life experiences we had in the past when it comes to making decisions in the present. It helps us reduce the risk of making the same mistakes again.

However, dwelling too long on negative memories can lead to many problems, bring bad feelings to the surface, and probably lead to stress, which speeds up aging according to a study published in the journal Biological Psychiatry.

Therefore, given the many challenges we face in life, whether in health care, the loss of a loved one, or financial situations, let us trust in the protection of Jesus. Let us be faithful that a solution will always come, as we strive to do Good. Place your Hope in someone who can really correspond to your expectations: Jesus!

For He “is the immortal certainty of better days,” as teaches the president-preacher of the Religion of Universal Love. In the Sacred Spiritual Guidelines of the Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit, volume 3, page 276, Paiva Netto affirms:

“This is why the Young People of Good Will are always victorious: They truly believe that—as Jesus taught us in His Gospel according to Luke 18:27—what is impossible for men is always possible for God. They learned that Hope never dies. Why!? Because Jesus is Hope! Praise the Lord!”
