Heloisa Helena, a mother, was facing a challenging situation in her life and because she did not know how to solve the problems that beset her, she got to the point of contemplating suicide as a solution.

“I thought my life was worthless, that it would make no difference if I killed myself . . . .  I was having problems with my 13-year old son. I suspected he was using drugs and this made me feel unmotivated and depressed. I began to lose interest life. I saw that I was struggling in vain. I simply gave up on living and was ready to kill myself,” she says. But simply changing the channel on her TV changed everything for her: “I tuned in to Good Will TV right when they were broadcasting a prayer and I saw the eyes of Jesus! This meeting was very touching.”

Since the beginning of the Good Will Organizations (IBVs, in Portuguese)1, their means of communication (radio, TV, Internet, and publications) have dealt with topics and theories that value life, bearing in mind the teaching of the late Alziro Zarur (1914-1979), the proclaimer of the Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit2"Suicide does not resolve anyone’s anguish.” The Good Will programs were pioneer in Brazil, mainly because there is a lack of similar content in the country. They aim to care for the physical, but mainly spiritual, health of people, with ecumenical prayers and messages of comfort, enlightenment, and hope inspired in Jesus, the Ecumenical Christ, the Divine Statesman. It was through this programming of peace that Heloisa managed to resist giving in to despair.

“Everything changed. I can see everything more clearly and more calmly now. With every day that passes, I worry more about my fellow beings, because there are people who are suffering from much greater difficulties than mine and don’t give up. I had such a little problem and I was thinking of giving up on something that God gave me, which is life. It’s very precious. I ask God to help me fulfill my Spiritual Agenda3 just the way I asked for it. I want to help people more and more. Today, I no longer see that ‘stone’ that I thought was enormous and so I was able to understand that the problem was not so big.”

Motivated by the Good Will Communication, the TV viewer went to visit the Ecumenical Church of the Religion of Universal Love in São Paulo, Brazil. There she heard for the first time the Treatise on the Spiritually Revolutionary New Commandment of Jesus: “When they were reading the Treatise something touched me and it seemed as if it was speaking to me. Throughout the entire Meeting, while looking at the happy faces of the people in the church, I thought to myself: ‘This is what I want for me. I want to change my life!’ When I got to the Ecumenical Church I didn’t want to leave ever. That energy involved me so much that I wanted that vibration every day, all the time. I was born again, she says very enthusiastically.

NEVER GIVE UP ON LIFE

Just as Heloisa is overcoming her challenges, it is important that all of us confidently move forward in life and see the solutions that exist, even if we are facing the most difficult battles. The President-Preacher of the Religion of the Third Millennium, Paiva Netto, explains: “We must cultivate solutions where some people only see problems. God always plants opportunities around us. Harvesting them or not depends on each one of us finding out how to cultivate the harvest of life with our own free will.” “Never give up on Life” should be our daily cry!,

COME AND BE HAPPY IN THE RELIGION OF THE THIRD MILLENNIUM

You are invited to participate in the ecumenical public meetings of the Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit. Every Saturday at 4:15 p.m. we hold the Meeting of the New Commandment of Jesus — the Meeting of Communion with God (Jesus’ New Commandment Meeting — a Meeting of Communion with God/a Communion with God), which is open to all families for the fraternal study of the Gospel-Apocalypse of Jesus understood in Spirit and Truth under the Light of His New Commandment.

“Being in the Meetings is something that’s unexplicable. It’s as if Jesus were there watching over all of us. Go to the Church nearest to your home, take part and become involved with all your heart, because you can only gain by doing so,” invites Heloisa.

1 Good Will Organizations — The term refers to the Legion of Good Will, the Religion of Universal Love, the José de Paiva Netto Foundation, the Good Will Foundation, and the Good Will Educational Association.

2 Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit — also called the Religion of the Third Millennium, and the Religion of Universal Love. This is the Ecumenical Religion of Brazil and the world.

3 Spiritual agenda — The Religion of Universal Love teaches that no one is born on Earth without a purpose to their existence. The Heavenly Educator Himself, Jesus, gave us His example: “For I have come down from Heaven not to do my will but to do the will of Him who sent me” (The Gospel according to John 6:38). Therefore, each one of us, before we are reincarnated on Earth, assumes in the spiritual world—our homeland of origin—a set of commitments, situations, and challenges that make up our Spiritual Agenda.
